What Etsy's creativity standards say
“Seller-prompted AI creations: Creations that were generated using AI tools (e.g., AI image generators such as Dall-E) based on a seller’s original prompts.”
Etsy, Creativity Standards (the page shows Last updated on Jun 10, 2025), page read 2026-10-09.
“Sellers must disclose within their listing description if an item is created with the use of AI.”
Etsy, Creativity Standards, page read 2026-10-09.
“Digital downloads of sellers’ original designs: Original content created by the seller, sold as a digital download.”
Etsy, Creativity Standards, page read 2026-10-09.
The page also lists “AI prompt bundles” among items that do not qualify as designed by a seller.
A newer change we could not confirm
A trade blog, EcomCrew, says new Etsy standards took effect on 2026-08-11 and that items made with tools such as laser cutters or sublimation printers must use the seller's own original design. It does not cite an Etsy announcement, and the Etsy page we opened shows the June 2025 date, so we treat the August date as unconfirmed. Read the page again before you list.
