Does TikTok allow monetizing AI-generated content?

checked 2026-10-09

Short answer. TikTok allows AI-generated content, but realistic synthetic media must be clearly disclosed with a label or caption, and content that tries to trick people into more followers, likes or views is ineligible for the For You feed. We could not open TikTok's own Creator Rewards rules, so a claim that AI is banned from monetization is unconfirmed.

What TikTok's community guidelines say about AI

“We welcome the creativity that new artificial intelligence (AI) and other digital technologies may unlock.”

TikTok Community Guidelines, Integrity and Authenticity (the page shows March 2023), page read 2026-10-09.

“Synthetic or manipulated media that shows realistic scenes must be clearly disclosed.”

“This can be done through the use of a sticker or caption, such as ‘synthetic’, ‘fake’, ‘not real’, or ‘altered’.”

Original work and the For You feed

“The creativity on TikTok is what makes it great, so you should only post your own work.”

“Content is ineligible for the FYF if it seeks to trick or manipulate others to increase followers, likes, or views.”

What we could not check: monetization

The guide that ranks for this is by a company that sells its own analytics platform. It says TikTok's Creator Rewards program "explicitly bans AI-generated content from monetization" and that AI content is "effectively suppressed" for affiliate commissions. Its dollar figures are production costs, not creator earnings. The page shows two dates ("Apr 24, 2026" and "Last Updated: March 2026") and cites no creator earnings. We did not check TikTok's own program rules. The TikTok help page for AI-generated content did not load as readable text for us, so we make no claim about the Creator Rewards program from TikTok's side.

How posting works

Every new video is shown to a small test audience first. If that audience keeps watching, it goes to more people. Posting through the official API needs the creator's consent, and apps that have not passed TikTok's audit can only post privately. Automation here is rated: careful, rules apply. Only the official posting API, with your consent and a preview. It cannot comment or message for you.

Questions

Does TikTok allow AI-generated videos?
Yes, with a condition: TikTok's guidelines say synthetic or manipulated media that shows realistic scenes must be clearly disclosed, for example with a sticker or caption.

Do I have to label AI content on TikTok?
Realistic scenes, yes. The guidelines list synthetic media showing realistic scenes that are not prominently disclosed or labeled as not allowed.

Can I earn from AI-generated TikTok videos?
We could not confirm TikTok's own Creator Rewards rule on AI. The guide that ranks for it is by a company that sells an analytics platform and cites no creator earnings, so we do not rely on it.

What keeps a video off the For You feed?
Among other things, TikTok says content is ineligible if it seeks to trick or manipulate others to increase followers, likes, or views.
