TikTok rules, fees and what gets you removed (2026)
checked 2026-10-08
How it works
Every new video is shown to a small test audience first. If that audience keeps watching, it goes to more people. Posting through the official API needs the creator's consent, and apps that have not passed TikTok's audit can only post privately.
Who is there
A huge audience that decides in about two seconds whether to stay.
Can you automate it?
Careful, rules apply. Only the official posting API, with your consent and a preview. It cannot comment or message for you.
Good habits
- The first two seconds carry the video
- Label promotional content with the toggle
- Disclose realistic AI-made media
What gets accounts or listings removed
- Accounts run in bulk or through unauthorised automation
- Buying or trading engagement
- Undisclosed realistic AI media
What we saw ourselves
Our own 83 organic posts: nearly all stopped at the first test audience of about 260 viewers. The median viewer left after about 2.6 seconds. The one post that reached 14,000 views was a USD 6 ad test.
Ways to earn that use it
- Clip videos for pay-per-view campaigns (Whop Content Rewards) (Worth a try)
- Clip with AI tools for creator-run marketplaces (Vyro and similar) (Watch, not proven yet)
- Buying views or running networks of clip accounts (Do not start)
- Faceless video channel with your own scripts (YouTube first) (Worth a try)
- Mass-produced AI short-video channels (faceless shorts farms) (Do not start)
- Turn podcasts and long videos into short clips and posts for the owner (Worth a try)
- Run a channel with an AI character or AI voice (Watch, not proven yet)
- UGC-style product videos for small brands (Watch, not proven yet)
Recent changes
- 2026-10-08: Our own measurement: 82 of 83 organic TikTok videos stopped at the first test audience of about 260 viewers. A quiet first month is the platform's test, not a verdict on you. Our hook-wording tests found no effect on watch time. Viewers leave in the first two seconds and we have not yet found what fixes that.
- 2025-07-15: YouTube renamed 'repetitious content' to 'inauthentic content': mass-produced or generic AI-template channels cannot earn. A channel needs a visible human point of view in every video. Mass AI shorts channels are on the avoid list for this reason.
