What is in the number
- Listing fee: USD 0.20 per listing. Listings expire after four months and renew for USD 0.20 unless you turn that off.
- Transaction fee: 6.5% of the item price (plus shipping and gift wrap, which a digital item does not have).
- Payment processing: 3% + USD 0.25 for United States bank accounts. Other countries have their own table.
- Offsite Ads: only on a sale Etsy’s own ads brought you: 15% of the order, or 12% once your shop passed USD 10,000 in sales over the previous 365 days. Capped at USD 100 per order.
- Not included: Etsy Ads you choose to buy, any regulatory operating fee in your country, VAT and the one-time set-up fee.

How much does Etsy take from a digital download?
On 2026-10-09, Etsy's fee page listed USD 0.20 per listing and a 6.5% transaction fee. For United States bank accounts Etsy's help page listed payment processing at 3% + USD 0.25. On a USD 5 item that is about USD 0.93, or 19% of the price, before any Offsite Ad fee.
What is the Etsy Offsite Ads fee?
If a sale comes from an ad Etsy runs for you off Etsy, Etsy charges 15% of the order, or 12% once your shop has reached USD 10,000 in sales over the prior 365 days, capped at USD 100 per order.
Does Etsy charge a listing fee on every sale?
Etsy charges USD 0.20 per listing, and a listing renews for the same amount every four months. This calculator lets you set how much listing fee to count against one sale.
