Paid website and app testing sites: is it worth it? (2026)

Watch, not proven yet checked 2026-10-08

Short answer. Not proven yet. Paid website and app testing sites (UserTesting and similar) needs about 20 minutes a day and nothing to start. If it works, a first dollar usually takes 1 to 4 weeks. Stated pay is small: about 10 dollars for a 15 to 20 minute UserTesting test, about 3 euros a test on Userlytics, 5 dollars on Userbrain and about 0.20 dollars a minute.

You record yourself using a website or app and speaking your thoughts aloud, and get paid a few euros or dollars per test.

What the evidence says about money

Stated pay is small: about 10 dollars for a 15 to 20 minute UserTesting test, about 3 euros a test on Userlytics, 5 dollars on Userbrain and about 0.20 dollars a minute on UserCrowd, according to a UK money-saving site (updated May 2026). Tests fill quickly, screeners often reject you, and availability is patchy. No income data exists. UserTesting's own page gives no rate or country list.

How sure are we: Backed by a secondary source such as press or a review site.

The rules where it happens

The hard part: where people quit

The moment: Qualifying and then waiting for a test that fits. Why: Tests are matched to profiles and screened out often. What helps: Keep a short list of platforms and log which ones actually paid.

When to stop

If after 4 weeks you have not been invited to at least 3 paid tests, stop. Never pay to join a testing site.

What can go wrong

Age, region and other limits

Minimum age 18. English is required for many tests.
